This has nothing to do with FI, but I need help! Somebody had stole the stock muffler on my 98 GSR today, and the thief left some paint scratches on the rear bumper. Without the stock muffler, it sounds really really horrible, really really loud. It's really embarrassing to drive it, and I have no plan to drive it until I get a new one, because I might get pulled over by cops for noise violation. So if somebody has a stock muffler for 98 and up GSR sitting around somewhere inside your garage, I would like to buy it from you. Please tell me how much you want for it. Preferrably someone from the West Coast of the US (I live in WA). I'll pay for the shipping. Please help your fellow GSR driver!!! THANX!!!

i drove without a muffler for about 8 weeks on my 95 civic ex after my stock exhaust fell off after the converter. sounded AWESOME> VERY loud, with a nice burble on throttle lift. i LOVED it. kept a set of earplugs in the car too. the motor really zoomed to redline way easier, much better above about 3500...

WTB does indeed mean want to buy, but that means they are looking to buy that.

You might also want to post a "WTB: Stock 98+ GS-R Muffler" (WTB = Want To Buy, I think) post over on www.honda-tech.com in the classifieds section. Seems to get a lot of traffic. Might call local shops that do exhaust installs. They might have someone's reject (like they didn't want it after getting a new cat back) lying around they could give to you. I left my stock exhaust at the shop that did my install because I couldn't fit it in my car, and it would have made a real mess. So I was just like, "eh, keep it."

Now might be a good time to look at an aftermarket exhaust. Unless you find someone pretty quick to get you a 98 GS-R muffler for little money. A suggestion on the install (whether it be replacement or OEM) use some killer locktite on the bolts! Oh, and don't park at that place ever again wink

Hey man, sorry to hear about someone taking you muffler. You should go check out The Parts Trader.com at http://www.thepartstrader.com and see if someone's trying to get rid of their stock muffler. There's a bunch of different categories...2 of which are "stock parts" and "wanted".
